BODEGA

Having met at the ferocious hothouse of youthful talent, Scotland's National Centre of Excellence for Traditional Music, the five members of Bodega are barely out of their teens and already being called one of Scotland's most exciting traditional bands. They formed the band in early 2005 and within a year had entered and promptly won the BBC Radio2 Young Folk Award. Mixing up clarsach (harp), bagpipes, fiddle and guitar with Norrie MacIver's powerful singing in both English and Gaelic, Bodega's sound is as fresh as it is accomplished, matching youthful boldness with precocious maturity.

"Their music has a kind of fierce energy, imagination, and joie de vivre, that you just don't hear very often."
Jack Evans, Scottish musician and producer
